Longtime Miramar High School Boys Basketball Coach Kenneth
Kelly has announced his retirement from coaching, effective immediately.
Kelly will retire with a career record of 126 wins and 65 losses.
His teams won 5 consecutive District regular season and tournament championships
from the 2006-07 season until the 2010-11 season. Kelly’s teams routinely
advanced deep into the playoffs, culminating in a trip to the State Final 4 in
2011.
Kelly has also coached a number of players who have
continued their careers at the collegiate level, including Orane Chin, Luis
Dinolis, and Xavier Martin, among others.
Kelly will remain at Miramar High School in an
administrative capacity. He will continue to further his education, and looks
to become a valued member of the administrative team.
There is no information regarding the search for a
replacement. Updates on the application and selection process will be available
at later date.
Check back later for updates to this developing story.
Until Next Time,
Cameron J. Underwood
